The                  Old Baldy Trail offers hiking at its best, and Roaring River has a nice whitewater paddling spot close by. Sure, Squaw Lakes is in close proximity; what would winter be without some skiing at Mt. Hood Ski Bowl. If you want a splendid time in the great outdoors just come on up to the Central Cascade Range. Plaza Creek is one of the streams nearby that might be worth going to; if the weather is delightful, you obtain a great view of Grouse Point from Shining Lake. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Shining Lake; Roaring River Trail is a fine local trail, and in case you don’t have a problem getting soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling on Clackamas River - Oak Grove Fork. Shining Lake is a beautiful lake in the Central Cascade Range. Yeah, come here to Shining Lake for a glorious time.
