Clackamas River - Oak Grove Fork is a fine whitewater spot near Shining Lake, and do take a hike on the Old Baldy Trail. Timberline Lodge has great slopes and a friendly staff, and in the event that you don’t have a problem getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Roaring River. Now, you may believe that's lots but there's even more cool things to do here in the Central Cascade Range. A perfect panorama of lovely Grouse Point is available from Shining

| | Lake, and dry warm beds await you at Whispering Woods (Vri). This site is unbeatable, just check out all the cool things to do in the vicinity of Shining Lake. If you came for an overnight stay Frazier Turnaround Campground is a pleasant place to camp; hiking along the Dry Ridge Trail is nice fun. Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Really glorious skiing awaits you at Mt. Hood Ski Bowl, and Squaw Meadow is a glorious site here at Shining Lake. Whohoo, so many amusing things in one place! The Central Cascade Range is peerless!
Camping is available at Shining Lake Campground, and since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always stop at close by Squaw Lakes. A good deal of precipitation falls at Shining Lake; through the month of December you get
the most rain around here while July is usually the driest month. This lake is one of the great places here in the Central Cascade Range. This lake is so wonderful. Plaza Creek is one of the streams nearby that might be worth
going to; Shining Lake is right by the Roaring River Trail. Any time is a delightful time at Shining Lake if you have a thing about the outdoors. All through the warm days of summer, highs usually are in the 70's at Shining Lake.
Through the dark hours of summer temperatures drop down into the 50's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 40's, and winter nights come with lows in the 30's to Shining Lake.
