     Whohoo, so many enjoyable things in one place! The Blue Mountains rules!. Don't leave Scheckels Reservoir without first going for a hike along the Call Meadow Trail; Scheckels Dam has great water scenery. The Blue Mountains scenery is always beautiful.
This lake is so wonderful. If you came for an overnight stay Ray Cole Campground is a nice place to camp, and Stekel Reservoir is a delightful lake nearby. Around Scheckels Reservoir you don’t get a lot of
 
   rainfall; throughout the month of December you get the most snow around here while July is mostly the driest month. During the months of summer here at Scheckels Reservoir, high temperatures frequently get into the 80's. Through the moonlight hours it's typically in the 30's. Daytime highs throughout the wintertime are in the 30's, and through the dark hours in the winter at Scheckels Reservoir temperatures fall to the 0's.
Now, you may think that's plenty
 
               but there's even more cool stuff to do here in the Blue Mountains. Camping is available at Rock Springs Campground, and a lovely lake like Charlie Smith Reservoir is a great spot to visit. But wait, there's more to do right next door to Scheckels Reservoir. Good hiking is available along the Rattlesnake Trail, and after a long day outdoors Best Western John Day Inn is a fine site to spend a night or two. There's glorious hiking along the Fawn Spring Trail, and there's some flowing water nearby, Flat Creek is a stream you can visit while you're here.
