Oregon has many beautiful lakes and Sams Ponds is one of them. This lake is so wonderful. There is a splendid hiking trail in the neighborhood of Sams Ponds called the East Mountain Trail. These mountains rock, just explore all the amusing things to do in the Central Cascade Range. Sams Ponds is a good location to visit for more than one day, Silver Fox RV Park is a good location to camp nearby, and going for a hike on the Cold Spring Trail is always a brilliant

water scenery. For the duration of the summer months highs here at Sams Ponds get into the 80's, and during the night it cools down to the 50's. For the duration of the winter highs are in the 40's while the cold winter nights at
Sams Ponds are in the 30's. Sams Ponds is a wet location that gets a large amount of rainfall; of all the months in a year December is the one with the most rain; the driest month is July. A pleasant place for whitewater paddling
in the vicinity of Sams Ponds is Eagle Creek; on a splendid day you can take a hike along the High Camp Trail. This lake is so wonderful. A perfect close by hotel is Howard Johnson Gresham, of course you could also check out North
Fork Reservoir while you're here; it's not far at all. Springwater Golf Course is a wonderful golf course close by, and Northwest Land Management is a fine local campground.

 | 13 miles away ...d we were disappointed to find that S. Mollala Forest Rd narrows and now effectively ends. Actually, it continues, but the road is impeded by a gate sporting many 'no trespassing' signs and marking it 'private property'. When we got to this point, we were just about to turn around and go home when another car drove past us onto the road. Having driven for several hours to get there, we dared to venture further, and followed the car despite the many warnings on the gate. Now, if you are reading this please heed my advice... never do what we did. Do not try to find this trail. Listen to signs. They are usually there for a reason. We could not locate the next road to turn on because all the old street signs had been removed and all of the old turn-offs warned away the unauthorized with huge boulders blocking the road, locked gates and more no-trespassing signs. After taking some pictures of beautifully dilapidated country houses, we decided to call it a day and return home empty handed.
