    A visit to Rush Pond is always a good idea. Yep, outdoors amusing stuff to do are beyond doubt abundant here at Rush Pond. There's good hiking along the Peep Creek Trail; since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always explore close by Gilson Pond. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a place to stay Best Western John Day Inn is a perfect choice; if you come at the right time of year, John Day River - North Fork offers some pleasant whitewater. At Rush  
   Pond you don’t see much precipitation; of all the months in a year November is the one with the most rain, and July is the month with the least moisture.
Why not camp at Meadowbrook Lodge and Overnight Park while you're here at Rush Pond, and not far from Rush Pond you'll stumble on Stinking Water Pond which is a pretty lake. Rush Pond is located in the Blue Mountains. At Rush Pond during the summer months highs are in the 80's, and the night is a little
 
               chillier of course, commonly in the 40's. Through the winter highs are in the 30's; night lows in the 20's for Rush Pond.
Be careful coming to the Blue Mountains, you might not ever want to return back home again. Don't leave Rush Pond without first going for a hike along the Bear Camp Trail, and Trough Creek Campground is a great local campground. The Section Line Trail offers hiking at its best, and a pleasant tour to Litch Meadow is a great way to spend an afternoon. That right there is a load of exciting things already but it goes on, the Blue Mountains has it all.
