Rough and Ready Lakes is a nice lake to visit. Rough and Ready Lakes is one of the lakes here in the Coast Ranges. Throughout the summertime at Rough and Ready Lakes highs are commonly in the 60's, and the overnight is a little colder of course, generally in the 50's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 50's; through the dark hours in the winter at Rough and Ready Lakes temperatures descend to the 40's. All the water falling down from the sky

| | makes Rough and Ready Lakes a wet location; during the month of December you get the most rain around here while July is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Rough and Ready Lakes is right by the Chetco Divide Trail, and a trip to Oregon Caves National Monument is recommended. City North. And that's not all you can do here at Rough and Ready Lakes. Twin Pines Cafe and RV is a good campground nearby; whitewater paddling is delightful on Smith River - North Fork. That right there is a lot of entertaining
stuff already but it goes on, the Coast Ranges has it all. A glorious spot near Rough and Ready Lakes is Doe Gap, and if you came for an overnight stay Meadow Creek Campground is a tremendous site to camp. This lake is so wonderful.
Hiking along the Chetco Peak Trail is delightful fun, and don't leave Rough and Ready Lakes without first paying a visit to Limber Camp Spring. Going for a hike along the Upper Chetco Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this area; if you don’t have a problem getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Illinois River.
