The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 80's to Rotten Lake, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. Throughout the winter highs are in the 30's while the cold winter nights at Rotten Lake are in the 20's. This lake is so wonderful. A brilliant site like Big Dry Lake here at Rotten Lake is too brilliant to miss; get covered with water paddling on John       Day River. While you're here at Rotten Lake you will meet lots of people from nearby Prineville. Rotten Lake is regularly a reasonably dried up place; December is the month that gets the most snow while July is frequently the driest month.
