This lake is so wonderful. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Hood River - Lake Branch; don't leave Recession Lakes without first going for a hike along the Elk Grove Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Recession Lakes; Timberline Trail is a tremendous local trail, and Mount Hood Inn is a delightful site to get some rest. Nearby Leuthold       Couloir is a great site to go if you're at Recession Lakes; Mt. Hood Meadows is a very popular ski area in the vicinity. All year is a great time in the Central Cascade Range if you like the outdoors. If you want to stop by some exciting stuff, stop by The Chimney, and Mount Hood is wonderful and can be spotted from here. And that's not all you can do here at Recession Lakes. Recession Lakes is tremendous enough to spend more than a day at, White River Park                  Campground is a tremendous local campground, and there's great hiking along the Pinnacle Ridge Trail. Recession Lakes gets a good deal of water; through the month of December you get the most rain around here while July is the month with the least amount of precipitation. That right there is a lot already, but it keeps on going; Recession Lakes has it all. Head up to Cooper Spur and strap some skis to your feet. There's so much to do here at Recession Lakes that you need to camp here for a while, Reservoir Campground is a great spot for that, and since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always visit close by Laurance Lake. Recession Lakes is a beautiful lake in the Central Cascade Range. Life's too short to enjoy all the amusing stuff in the Central Cascade Range. Devils Kitchen is a magnificent place, and Recession Lakes is not far at all from Hood River. Dry warm beds await you at Comfort Suites Hood River, and get your heart pumping on the great whitewater of Hood River - West Fork. At Recession Lakes all through the summertime months highs are in the 70's, and throughout summer nights temperatures are in the 50's.
