Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always take a look at close by McNary Lake; swamps don’t sound that great but Crane Slough next to Rays Lake is relatively great. This lake is so wonderful. Take a little trip to Gilbert River since you're here at Rays Lake, and Best Western Oak Meadows Inn is       a pleasant place to get some rest. Lyons Beach is close to Rays Lake if you're in a beach type of mood; Salene Lake is right here at Rays Lake. Get wet paddling on Kalama River; if you came for an overnight stay Violette's Villa is a nice place to camp. Rays Lake is a wet place that gets a lot of rain; December is when you get the most rain here, and the driest month of the year is July. This lake is so wonderful. At Rays Lake you always meet someone from                  Portland-Vancouver-Beaverton, and not far from Rays Lake you'll hit upon Henrici Lake which is a picturesque lake. Whohoo, so much fun stuff in one place! Rays Lake is excellent! Rentenaar Point is not far from Rays Lake at all, and since you're here you can play some golf at St Helens Golf Course. High temperatures at Rays Lake throughout the long summer days are in the 70's while nighttime lows are typically in the 50's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 40's while Rays Lake overnight low temperatures during the winter are in the 30's.
