Smith Ferry Rapids is always fun to check out, and this is a popular place for people from Roseburg. The high level of rainfall makes Rattlesnake Gulch Reservoir a reasonably wet spot; the month with most of the rain is December while July is the month with the least amount of precipitation. This lake is one of the great places here in the Coast Ranges. But wait, there's more exciting things to do in the Coast Ranges. Brads Creek       flows through this area. You could also check out Beaver Pond if you're here at Rattlesnake Gulch Reservoir; it's close by, and a great place for whitewater paddling is Umpqua River. Throughout the summer, highs generally are in the 80's at Rattlesnake Gulch Reservoir with night lows in the 50's. High temperatures through the wintertime are normally in the 40's while the cold winter nights at Rattlesnake Gulch Reservoir are in the 30's. Having a glorious                  time in the Coast Ranges is easy. A tremendous nearby hotel is Best Western Hartford Lodge, and Elkton RV Park is a splendid campground nearby.
