Summer at Rainbow Lake comes with high temperatures in the 70's. Once the sun is down it descends down to the 50's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 40's, and after the sun is down throughout the winter temperatures at Rainbow Lake sink into the 30's. You can run the rapids of Breitenbush River right next door to Rainbow Lake, and there are good places to discover along the Coffin Mountain       Trail. Be careful coming to the Central Cascade Range, you might not ever wanna return home again. There's some flowing water close by, Blue Lick Creek is a stream you can check out while you're here; Hoodoo has great slopes and a friendly staff. This lake is so wonderful. There's just no way someone can get bored here at Rainbow Lake. Camping at Detroit Lake State Park is always a pleasant experience, and you can go for a hike on the Straight Creek Cat                  Trail. That right there is loads of enjoyable stuff already but it goes on, the Central Cascade Range has it all. Camping is available at B and B Rentals; after a long day outdoors All Season's Motel is a fine spot to spend a night or two. Good hiking is available along the Bachelor Mountain Trail, and get your heart pumping on the delightful whitewater of Santiam River - North. Much precipitation falls at Rainbow Lake; December is the wettest month with most rain, and July meanwhile is the driest month. This lake is so wonderful. Lakes are glorious; Idanha Log Pond is a lake that's close to Rainbow Lake, and a nice nearby hotel is Detroit Motel.
