This lake is one of the great places here in the Blue Mountains. This lake is so wonderful. There's perfect hiking along the Elkhorn Crest Trail; Sumpter Reservoir is a nearby lake that you could have a look at. Good hiking is available along the Twin Lakes Trail, and you can stay the night at Unity Lake. For the period of the summertime months highs here at Railroad Pond get into the 80's. During the dark       hours of summer temperatures descend down into the 30's. Daytime highs all through the wintertime are in the 30's, and during the dark hours in the wintertime at Railroad Pond temperatures dip to the 0's. It is very dried up here at Railroad Pond usually; the wettest month of the year is typically December, that's the one that snows the most, and the driest month is July. Do stop by Adobe Pond right next door to Railroad Pond, it's a charming lake; Sumpter                  Pines is a great campground nearby. If you want a great time in the great outdoors, just come on down to Railroad Pond. Go for a hike on the Rock Creek Lake Trail It's always nice to check out Alder Spring. Life's too short to enjoy all the entertaining stuff in the Blue Mountains. Alder Creek is one of the streams nearby that might be worth checking out, and don’t forget to stop by Alder Creek Meadow if you're here at Railroad Pond. So much cool stuff in the Blue Mountains, just impressive.
