This lake is so wonderful. Crook Point is not far from Pistol River Log Pond at all, and if you need a place to stay Inn of the Beachcomber is a great choice. You'll meet a lot of people from Brookings here, and don't leave Pistol River Log Pond without first checking out Henry Rock. This lake is one of the great places here in the Coast Ranges. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Coast Ranges. Getting       to Burnt Hill Creek from Pistol River Log Pond is easy; Pistol River Log Pond is glorious enough to spend more than a day at, Whaleshead Beach Campground is a glorious local campground. The high level of rain makes Pistol River Log Pond a relatively wet spot; December is when you get the most rain here, and July is the month with the least moisture. Summertime highs at Pistol River Log Pond typically tend to be in the 60's while nighttime lows are ordinarily                  in the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 50's with winter lows in the 40's overnight here at Pistol River Log Pond. Going for a hike on the Eagle Creek Trail is always a fine adventure, and you're possibly keen on lakes, Evans Log Ponds is one of those close by. All the outdoors entertaining stuff in the Coast Ranges will keep you coming back over and over. This is a good neighborhood for folks who like lakes. Frog Lake is a lake close at hand, and a great close by hotel is Pacific Reef Resort. This lake is so wonderful. Near Pistol River Log Pond you locate the Snow Camp Trail which is a wonderful hiking trail. There's so much to do here at Pistol River Log Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Turtle Rock RV Resort is a perfect place for that. Pistol River Log Pond in fact is in the middle of a lovely outdoors paradise.
