Many people like to go to Pichette Reservoir. A good nearby hotel is Oregon Garden Resort, and everybody loves Crooked Finger Prairie. This lake is so wonderful. On a pleasant day at Pichette Reservoir you can take a hike along the Crabtree Lake Trail. Lots of rainfall falls at Pichette Reservoir; December is the month that gets the most rain, and July is the month with the least moisture. Whohoo, so many amusing things in one place! There's just no way someone can get bored here at Pichette Reservoir. Abiqua Creek has a wonderful whitewater paddling spot close by; going for a hike along the Pine Crest Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this vicinity. Inn Sublimity is a good spot to get some rest; not far from Pichette Reservoir you'll discover Keohler Reservoir which is a gorgeous lake. This lake is so wonderful. Whitewater paddling is splendid on Silver Creek, and since you're
here you can take a hike along the Snow Peak Mill City Trail. High temperatures at Pichette Reservoir during the months of summer are in the 70's. Summer overnight lows fall down to the 50's. The cold days of the wintertime come
with highs in the 40's, and during the dark hours in the wintertime at Pichette Reservoir temperatures fall to the 30's.

Pine Crest Trail
 | 16 miles away ...t Trail can no longer be reached. A friend and I tried to go there last weekend and we were disappointed to find that S. Mollala Forest Rd narrows and now effectively ends. Actually, it continues, but the road is impeded by a gate sporting many 'no trespassing' signs and marking it 'private property'. When we got to this point, we were just about to turn around and go home when another car drove past us onto the road. Having driven for several hours to get there, we dared to venture further, and followed the car despite the many warnings on the gate. Now, if you are reading this please heed my advice... never do what we did. Do not try to find this trail. Listen to signs. They are usually there for a reason. We could not locate the next road to turn on because all the old street signs had been removed and all of the old turn-offs warned away the unauthorized with huge boulders blocking the road, locked gates and more no-trespassing signs. After taking some pictures of beautifully dilapidated country houses, we decided to call it a day and return home empty handed. However, when we go... |
