Pelkey Lake is a very beautiful lake in beautiful surroundings. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always pop by nearby Corbia Lake; if you're here you can take a hike along the High Camp Trail. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this place. In the event that you don't mind getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on Mollala River - North Fork, and you can have a magnificent hiking adventure along the Pine Crest Trail. | | is so wonderful. Not far from Pelkey Lake, you'll discover Beeres Pond which is a stunning lake, and Mollala River - South Fork has a splendid whitewater paddling spot close by. good deal of rainfall falls at Pelkey Lake; December is when you get the most rain here, and the driest month of the year is July. Just can't get enough of the Central Cascade Range. Bear Creek is a delightful stream that is worth
visiting. Pelkey Lake is a fine location to visit for more than one day, Camp Dakota is a fine location to camp nearby; if the weather is magnificent, you can go for a hike along the Baty Silver King Trail. Summertime at Pelkey Lake
arrives with high temperatures in the 70's. When the night sets in temperatures plunge down into the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 40's while Pelkey Lake nighttime low temperatures throughout the wintertime are in the 30's.

 | ...ere disappointed to find that S. Mollala Forest Rd narrows and now effectively ends. Actually, it continues, but the road is impeded by a gate sporting many 'no trespassing' signs and marking it 'private property'. When we got to this point, we were just about to turn around and go home when another car drove past us onto the road. Having driven for several hours to get there, we dared to venture further, and followed the car despite the many warnings on the gate. Now, if you are reading this please heed my advice... never do what we did. Do not try to find this trail. Listen to signs. They are usually there for a reason. We could not locate the next road to turn on because all the old street signs had been removed and all of the old turn-offs warned away the unauthorized with huge boulders blocking the road, locked gates and more no-trespassing signs. After taking some pictures of beautifully dilapidated country houses, we decided to call it a day and return home empty handed.
