Palmer Reservoir is a beautiful lake in the Blue Mountains. And if that's not enough there's plenty more exciting things to do in the Blue Mountains. Don't leave Palmer Reservoir without first paying a visit to Blue Pot Spring, needless to say you could also check out South Wind Creek Reservoir if you're here; it's not far at all. A trip to John Day Fossil Beds National Monument is worthwhile, and Palmer Reservoir is right by the South Prong Trail.
This lake

is so wonderful. Camping is available at Pine Tree Campground; you can have a great hiking adventure along the Coffeepot Trail. Now, you may believe that's a lot but there's even more amusing stuff to do here in the Blue Mountains. Palmer Reservoir is not the only place close by, Turnpike Reservoir is a close by lake; South Fork Wind Creek is one of the streams nearby that might be worth stopping at.
Through the summer months at Palmer Reservoir highs are

ordinarily in the 80's. For the period of the dark hours of summer temperatures sink down into the 40's. During the winter highs are in the 30's, and night lows in the 10's for Palmer Reservoir. Just can't get enough of Palmer Reservoir. If you came for an overnight stay Fish House Inn is a great place to camp, and do take a hike on the Black Canyon Trail. Palmer Reservoir gets very little precipitation; through November this area sees the most rain, and September is the month with the least moisture.
