Best Western Columbia River Inn is a wonderful place to get some rest, and the good folks of Hood River like to hang out close by. Yep, outdoors cool stuff to do are beyond doubt bountiful here at Ottertail Lake. And that's not everything you can do here in the Central Cascade Range. Very scenic scenery and tremendous skiing is what you get at Mt. Hood Ski Bowl, and let's not forget Simmons Creek       which is a stream that you may bump into while here. Just can't get enough of the Central Cascade Range. Gotta ski! Timberline Lodge is a good spot to do that, and on a glorious day you can take a hike along the Lost Lake Butte Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Black Lake is a glorious lake in the vicinity of Ottertail Lake, and Ottertail Lake is a great spot to visit for more than one day, Wind Mountain Resort is a great spot to camp nearby. Get covered                  with water paddling on Hood River - West Fork, and after a long day outdoors Skamania Lodge is a splendid place to spend a night or two. This lake is located in the wonderful Central Cascade Range. Paddling on Hood River - Lake Branch is so much fun; if the weather is tremendous, you can go for a hike along the Wyeth Trail. So much enjoyable stuff in close proximity to Ottertail Lake, truly impressive. Ladd Creek Campground is a fine local campground; the summit of Tomlike Mountain can be seen from Ottertail Lake. This lake is so wonderful. While you're here at Ottertail Lake you can take a hike along the Herman Creek Trail, and a delightful lake like Rainy Lake is a delightful place to stop at. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 70's to Ottertail Lake; the night is slightly chillier of course, usually in the 50's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 40's, and night lows in the 30's for Ottertail Lake.
