Opal Lake is always a pleasure to visit. Opal Lake is one of the lakes here in the Central Cascade Range. The French Creek Trail offers hiking at its best, and paddling on Santiam River - North is so much fun. That right there is heaps of amusing things already but it goes on, the Central Cascade Range has it all. Dry warm beds await you at Best Western Sandy Inn. You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the cool stuff at Opal Lake. Not far from

| | Opal Lake, you'll hit upon Big Cliff Reservoir which is a delightful lake. There's so much to do here at Opal Lake that you need to camp here for a while, B and B Rentals is a great place for that. Be careful coming to the Central Cascade Range, you might not ever want to return home again. Whitewater paddling is great on Elkhorn Creek, and there are other places here than Opal Lake, for example Giebeler Lake. All through the warmest time of the year at Opal | |

Lake temperatures are frequently in the 70's, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 40's. During the winter highs are in the 40's; overnight lows at Opal Lake all through the wintertime typically plunge into the 30's.
This lake is so wonderful. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Opal Lake; Beachie Trail is a good local trail; if you came to camp Detroit Lake State Park is a magnificent location to do that. Dog Tooth Rock is something you shouldn't
miss if you're here at Opal Lake, and magnificent hiking is available along the Rocky Top Trail. Opal Lake is a rather wet place frequently with a large amount of rainfall; December is the month that gets the most rain; July on the other hand is the driest.
