Go for a hike on the Timpanogas Way, and a good site to camp here at Opal Lake is Shelter Cove Resort. Opal Lake mostly gets much rain; the month of December is the wettest with most of the rain; July is the month with the least moisture. Near Opal Lake you find the Windy Pass Way which is a fine hiking trail, and not far from Opal Lake you'll hit upon June Lake which is a beautiful lake.       All through the warmest time of the year, highs ordinarily are in the 80's at Opal Lake, and through the night it cools down to the 40's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 40's, and during the dark hours in the wintertime at Opal Lake temperatures dip to the 20's. Opal Lake is great enough to spend more than a day at, Lake Lucile Campground is a great local campground; Crater Lake National Park is a very splendid location to stop at.
