If you adore the outdoors you'll adore it here in the Central Cascade Range. Go for a hike on the Timpanogas Way, and a good site to camp here at Opal Lake is Shelter Cove Resort. Opal Lake mostly gets much rain; the month of December is the wettest with most of the rain; July is the month with the least moisture. Near Opal Lake you find the Windy Pass Way which is a fine hiking trail, and not far from Opal Lake you'll hit upon June Lake which is a beautiful lake.

| | All through the warmest time of the year, highs ordinarily are in the 80's at Opal Lake, and through the night it cools down to the 40's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 40's, and during the dark hours in the wintertime at Opal Lake temperatures dip to the 20's. spots on Hills Creek. This place, the Central Cascade Range, has so much outdoors fun stuff. This lake is so wonderful. Going for a hike on the Sawtooth Way is always a wonderful adventure. Lakes are pleasant; Timpanogas Lake is a lake that's in the vicinity of Opal Lake.

 | Roundtrip Distance 8.4 miles Elevation Gain 2,353 ft. This peak is trailless, meaning a portion or all of the route up the mountain is via an unmarked trail. For this particular mountain, the typical route is known as a ''herd path'' which is not much more than a worn, but unmarked trail. Some of the herd paths are easy to follow, others are not. In many instances the hiker will travel down a false herd path and eventually have to correct his/her course via backtracking.
