Why not take a look at nearby Gate Creek since you're here at North Lake, and get your pulse rate up on the brilliant whitewater of Hood River - Lake Branch. While you're here at North Lake you will meet lots of people from nearby Hood River, and you can have a good hiking adventure along the Wyeth Trail. If the weather is glorious here at North Lake, you can go for a hike along the Pacific Crest Trail - section 23,       and if you like skiing, you're in luck; Cooper Spur is reasonably near. North Lake is a quite wet place typically with a large amount of rainfall; during the month of December you get the most rain around here; July on the other hand is the driest. This lake is so wonderful. The skiing at Timberline Lodge is fine, and dry warm beds await you at Best Western Columbia River Inn. This place is peerless, just check out all the exciting things to do near North                  Lake. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Central Cascade Range. Timberlake Campground is a glorious local campground, and while you're here you can take a hike along the Herman Creek Trail. This lake is so wonderful. If you came for an overnight stay Wind Mountain Resort is a nice spot to camp; at North Lake you can catch a sight of Green Point Mountain. This lake is one of the great places here in the Central Cascade Range. For the period of the summertime highs here at North Lake get into the 70's. When the night sets in temperatures plunge down into the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 40's, and nighttime lows in the 30's for North Lake.
