A perfect nearby hotel is Phoenix Grand Hotel, obviously you could also visit Berger Lake while you're here; it's not far at all. There's just no way somebody can get bored here at Nelsons Pond. In case you don’t have a problem getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Crabtree Creek; during your visit here you'll meet some people from Salem for sure. The high level of precipitation       makes Nelsons Pond a quite wet place; December is the month that gets the most rain, and the driest month of the year is July. This lake is so wonderful. Zosel Hill is delightful and can be made out from Nelsons Pond, and if you need a place to stay Phoenix Inn Suites South Salem is a perfect choice. Eola Bend Rv Park is a great campground nearby; enjoy a round of golf at Salem Golf Club. Nearby lakes? Sure, Sexton Reservoir is near Nelsons Pond, and                  a quick spree to Croisan Creek is definitely a great idea. This lake is so wonderful.
