There's so much to do here at Nelson Reservoir that you need to camp here for a while, Central Point Koa Kampground is a delightful site for that, and there is a magnificent hiking trail nearby called the Red Mountain Trail. The amount of rain that falls at Nelson Reservoir is close to the national average; December is the wettest month with most rain; July on the other hand is the driest. This lake is so wonderful. could always discover Holman Gulch, and at Lester James Dam close to Nelson Reservoir there are some out of the ordinary things to see. This lake is so wonderful. Fairfield Inn & Suites Medford is a splendid spot to get some rest,
and no need to travel far to pop by exciting stuff like Lower Table Rock. So much fun stuff to do in the Siskiyou Mountains, not enough time. Dry warm beds await you at Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites MEDFORD-CENTRAL POINT; the
Chicago Trail is a good hiking trail nearby. Be careful coming to Nelson Reservoir, you might not ever wanna return back home again. Stay the night at Millpond Campground; you can run the rapids of Rogue River. During the summer
at Nelson Reservoir highs are usually in the 80's. For the duration of the dark hours of summer temperatures drop down into the 50's. Throughout the winter highs are in the 40's with temperatures at Nelson Reservoir dipping down into
the 30's through winter nights. Nelson Reservoir is not far at all from Medford; going for a hike on the Canyon Number Three Trail is always a good adventure. Nelson Reservoir is located in the Siskiyou Mountains.

Mt. Ashland
 | 27 miles away 3 PHOTOS If you can ski Mt. Ashland, you can ski anywhere, is a boast locals in southern Oregon have made for 45 years. It is true; Mt. Ashland offers plenty of adventure for both skiers and riders. The ski area is located about a half an hour drive from the charming town of Ashland, home to the world renowned Oregon Shakespeare Festival. At 7,500 feet, Mt. Ashland is the highest point in the Siskiyou mountain range. Its north facing slopes collect an average 300 inches of snowfall annually. The ski area offers 23 trails in addition to chute skiing and boarding in its famous bowl. All trails are easily accessed by 4 chairlifts. Twilight skiing on 10 runs is scheduled Thursday through Friday evenings beginning in late-December. The mountain prides itself on a warm and friendly atmosphere.
