Not far from Muskrat Lake, you'll discover Snowshoe Lake which is a lovely lake, and pretty scenery and pleasant skiing is what you acquire at Mt. Bachelor. This lake is so wonderful. There's perfect hiking along the Mud Lake Trail, and hey, Gotta ski right? Willamette Pass is a great spot to do that. Throughout the summertime months here at Muskrat Lake, high temperatures typically       get into the 80's, and during the night it cools down to the 40's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 40's while the cold winter nights at Muskrat Lake are in the 20's. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Central Cascade Range. East Lake Resort and RV Parks is a perfect local campground. If only every site had this much outdoors fun stuff, what a great world it would be. Muskrat Lake is a good spot to visit for more than one day, Upper Campground is a good                  spot to camp nearby; since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always have a look at nearby Winopee Lake. Don't leave Muskrat Lake without first going for a hike along the Winopee Lake Trail, and get your pulse rate up on the tremendous whitewater of Deschutes River. Muskrat Lake is a pretty wet place generally with much rain; through December this area sees the most rain, and the driest month of the year is July. But wait, there's more cool stuff to do in the Central Cascade Range.
