     Oregon has many beautiful lakes and Mud Reservoir is one of them. Stay the night at Pine Tree Campground, and the panoramas at John Day Fossil Beds National Monument will blow your mind. This lake is so wonderful. A spree to Mud Reservoir wouldn't be complete without taking a look at Hat Spring, and South Prong Reservoir is a wonderful lake nearby. This lake is located in the wonderful Blue Mountains.
Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Blue Mountains.
 
   There's so much to do here at Mud Reservoir that you need to camp here for a while, Fish House Inn is a splendid place for that, and a beautiful lake like Beaverdam Reservoir is a good spot to visit. What a spot this is for outdoors folks. Going for a hike on the Coffeepot Trail is always a great adventure. The South Prong Trail is a nice hiking trail right next door to Mud Reservoir, and close by you come across the Black Canyon Trail which is a brilliant hiking  
               trail.
Mud Reservoir is pretty dried up usually; November is the month that gets the most rain, and the driest month is September. At Mud Reservoir during the warm days of summer highs are in the 80's while night lows are usually in the 40's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 30's with winter lows in the 10's overnight here at Mud Reservoir.
