This lake is so wonderful. A great deal of rainfall falls at Mud Puppy Lake; the month with most of the rain is December while July is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Lakes? Sure, Cold Spring Reservoir is in the neighborhood, and if you're here you can take a hike along the Coffin Mountain Trail. Having a magnificent time in the Central Cascade Range is uncomplicated. If you came for an overnight       stay Detroit Lake State Park is a tremendous place to camp; everyone nearby loves skiing at Hoodoo. Life's too short to enjoy all the fun things next to Mud Puppy Lake. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Santiam River - North, and B and B Rentals is a glorious campground nearby. If the weather is good here at Mud Puppy Lake, you can go for a hike along the Bachelor Mountain Trail, and Lodge at Suttle Lake is a magnificent                  spot to get some rest. This lake is so wonderful. There are other places here than Mud Puppy Lake, for example Idanha Log Pond, and why not take a little journey to Bear Lake Creek while you're here. But wait, there's more amusing stuff to do in the Central Cascade Range. There's whitewater on Breitenbush River for all you adrenaline people; on a great day you can take a hike along the Straight Creek Cat Trail. The Central Cascade Range scenery is always beautiful. High temperatures at Mud Puppy Lake through the summertime months are in the 70's. All through the moonlight hours it's generally in the 50's.
