    Do stop by Mud Lake while you're in this part of Oregon. Mud Lake is usually a rather dried up spot; during the month of November you get the most rain around here, and July is when it's the driest. There's whitewater on John Day River - North Fork for all you thrill seekers, and why not take a refreshing hike along the Beeman Junkens Trail. Mud Lake is located in the Blue Mountains.

   Hunter Meadow is a great place here at Mud Lake. Having a great time at Mud Lake is painless. A quick visit to Deadwood Creek right next door to Mud Lake is a nice idea. There's so much to do here at Mud Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Deerhorn Campground is a great site for that. Be careful coming to the Blue Mountains, you might not ever want to go home again. Take a hike on the Jumpoff Joe Trail.

               for a good time. A short visit to Mud Springs is always worthwhile, and Ives Gulch is another tremendous place to visit nearby. For the duration of the summertime months at Mud Lake highs are commonly in the 80's, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 30's. All through the wintertime highs are usually in the 30's, and through the dark hours in the winter at Mud Lake temperatures dip to the 10's. This lake is so wonderful. The Bear Camp Trail offers hiking at its best. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Mud Lake has to offer, you can camp at Trough Creek Campground.
