Hunter Meadow is a brilliant place to stretch your legs a bit, and going for a hike on the Bear Camp Trail is always a good adventure. You're in all probability interested in lakes, Jumpoff Joe Lake is one of those close by, and Best Western John Day Inn is a great location to get some rest. If you want a good time in the great outdoors just come on up to the Blue Mountains. There are some       pleasant whitewater spots on John Day River - North Fork; there's some flowing water close by, Deadwood Creek is a stream you can have a look at during your stay. This lake is so wonderful. Looking for something near Mud Lake? Balance Lake is around here; do put some time aside to spend at Mud Springs if you're here at Mud Lake. Don't leave Mud Lake without first going for a hike along the Jumpoff Joe Trail, and close by you hit upon Ives Gulch which is a splendid place to check out. This lake is so wonderful. Mud Lake is great enough to spend more than a day at, Deerhorn Campground is a great local campground. Mud Lake is a beautiful lake in the Blue Mountains. During the summertime here at Mud Lake, high temperatures mostly reach the 80's, and throughout the night it cools down to the 30's.
