    If you are in Grant county it's always a good idea to stop by Mud Lake. Hunter Meadow is a brilliant place to stretch your legs a bit, and going for a hike on the Bear Camp Trail is always a good adventure. You're in all probability interested in lakes, Jumpoff Joe Lake is one of those close by, and Best Western John Day Inn is a great location to get some rest. If you want a good time in the great outdoors just come on up to the Blue Mountains. There are some  
   pleasant whitewater spots on John Day River - North Fork; there's some flowing water close by, Deadwood Creek is a stream you can have a look at during your stay.
This lake is so wonderful. Looking for something near Mud Lake? Balance Lake is around here; do put some time aside to spend at Mud Springs if you're here at Mud Lake. And if you're still looking for more outdoors fun stuff just keep reading. There are tremendous spots to discover along the Beeman
 
               Junkens Trail; if you came to camp Trough Creek Campground is a wonderful place to do that. Mud Lake gets very little rainfall; most of the rain falls throughout November; the driest month is July.
These mountains rock, just check out all the exciting stuff to do in the Blue Mountains. Don't leave Mud Lake without first going for a hike along the Jumpoff Joe Trail, and close by you hit upon Ives Gulch which is a splendid place to check out. This lake is so wonderful. Mud Lake is great enough to spend more than a day at, Deerhorn Campground is a great local campground. Mud Lake is a beautiful lake in the Blue Mountains.
During the summertime here at Mud Lake, high temperatures mostly reach the 80's, and throughout the night it cools down to the 30's. Daytime highs through the winter are in the 30's; nighttime lows through the winter for Mud Lake tend to be in the 10's.
