     This lake is so wonderful. Just can't get enough of the Blue Mountains. Go for a hike on the Joaquin Miller Trail; Best Western John Day Inn is a good site to get some rest. Going for a hike on the Berry Creek Trail is always a tremendous adventure, and Mud Lake is good enough to spend more than a day at, Ray Cole Campground is a good local campground.
Camping at Clyde Holliday is always a good experience; there are other places here than Mud Lake, for example
 
   Canyon City Reservoir. Through the summer here at Mud Lake, high temperatures generally get into the 80's. For the duration of the dark hours of summer temperatures dip down into the 40's. High temperatures throughout the wintertime are normally in the 30's, and night lows all through the wintertime for Mud Lake tend to be in the 20's. And if that's not sufficient there's heaps more fun things to do in the Blue Mountains. Hot Springs is a beautiful place to check  
               out while you're at Mud Lake; close by you find Bear Gulch which is a glorious spot to take a look at.
Not much precipitation falls here at Mud Lake; of all the months in a year November is the one with the most rain while July is usually the driest month. This lake is so wonderful. Near Mud Lake you locate the Fawn Spring Trail which is a great hiking trail; after a long day outdoors Americas Best Value Inn is a great place to spend a night or two. Having a good time at Mud Lake is trouble-free. Lakes? Sure, Guernsey Pond is in close proximity; needless to say Berry Creek is a beautiful stream that is worth checking out.
This lake is one of the great places here in the Blue Mountains.
