Mud Lake is located in the Blue Mountains. Indian Springs Campground is a great local campground, and a pleasant spree to Big Riner Basin is a wonderful way to spend an afternoon. This site, the Blue Mountains, has so much outdoors enjoyable stuff. Don't leave Mud Lake without first paying a visit to Slide Falls, and do take a hike on the Lake Creek Trail. So many enjoyable things to do in the       Blue Mountains, not sufficient time. At Mud Lake all through the summertime months highs are in the 80's while overnight lows are ordinarily in the 40's. Throughout the winter the highs are typically in the 40's with temperatures at Mud Lake dipping down into the 20's through winter nights. If only every site had this much outdoors exciting things, what a great globe it would be. After a long day outdoors Best Western John Day Inn is a great place to spend                  a night or two, and a lake close by is Little Slide Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Mud Lake is a great place to visit for more than one day, Wickiup Campground is a great place to camp nearby, and you can have a magnificent hiking adventure along the Meadow Fork Trail. Mud Lake is a location that is quite dried out frequently; the month with most of the rain is May while July is the month with the least amount of precipitation.
