Mehlhorn Reservoir is a great lake in the vicinity of Mud Lake, and dry warm beds await you at Best Western Rama Inn & Suites. Man, is there a load of exciting stuff to       do close to Mud Lake. Lakes? Sure, Sugarloaf Reservoir is in the vicinity. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Mud Lake has to offer, you can camp at Scenic Meadows RV Park. Sugarloaf Dam is a site that is close to Mud Lake, and the Martin Bridge Trail is a delightful hiking trail nearby. These mountains rock, just look at all the entertaining stuff to do in the Wallowa Mountains. No need to travel far to pop by attention-grabbing stuff like Deadman                  Point. This lake is so wonderful. The top of Russel Mountain is easily seen from Mud Lake, and on a nice day you can take a hike along the Kettle Creek Trail. There's so much to do here at Mud Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Wallowa Lake State Park is a tremendous spot for that, and nearby you stumble on the Main Creek Trail which is a splendid hiking trail. For the period of the days of summer at Mud Lake temperatures are usually in the 80's. For the period of the moonlight hours it's typically in the 40's.
