Not far from Muckney Lake, you'll hit upon Kodiak Pond which is a stunning lake. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Muckney Lake has to offer, you can camp at S'Ocholis Campground. But wait, there's more entertaining stuff to do in the Southern Cascade Range. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always have a look at nearby Smokey Lake, and a spree to Lava Beds National Monument       is worthwhile. This lake is so wonderful. Council Butte is a peak you can catch a glimpse of from Muckney Lake, and needless to say Rock Creek is a charming stream that is worth visiting. Muckney Lake is one of the lakes here in the Southern Cascade Range. Muckney Lake is a location that is rather dehydrated typically; throughout the month of December you get the most snow around here; July is the month with the least moisture. Throughout the summertime                  at Muckney Lake temperatures are ordinarily in the 80's. Once the sun is down it drops down to the 40's.
