    Many people like to go to Mills Riffle Reservoir. Now, you may believe that's a heap but there's even more enjoyable stuff to do here at Mills Riffle Reservoir. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always check out nearby Siletz Reservoir, and The Landing At Newport is a great place to get some rest. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Mills Riffle Reservoir has to offer, you can camp at Sportsman's Landing RV Park, and if you need a  
   place to stay Embarcadero Resort Hotel & Marina is a good choice. The Coast Ranges scenery is always beautiful.
This lake is so wonderful. Pioneer Summit is a perfect location to look at. For the period of the months of summer here at Mills Riffle Reservoir, high temperatures regularly get into the 60's, and the nighttime is a tad cooler of course, generally in the 40's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 50's; winter nights come with lows in the 30's
 
               to Mills Riffle Reservoir. You just can't imagine the amount of outdoors cool stuff the Coast Ranges has to offer. Mills Riffle Reservoir is a good spot to visit for more than one day, Sunset Landing is a good spot to camp nearby, and next to Mills Riffle Reservoir you hit upon a golf course called Olalla Valley Golf Course.
Having a great time in the Coast Ranges is painless. There's whitewater on Siletz River for all you adrenaline kick people; while you're here, you could stop by Baker Creek. This lake is so wonderful. Going for a hike on the Horse Creek Trail is always a brilliant adventure, and get your heart pumping on the magnificent whitewater of Drift Creek. The high level of rainfall makes Mills Riffle Reservoir a rather wet place; during the month of December you get the most rain around here, and July on the other hand is the driest.
Lakes? Sure, Olalla Reservoir is close by, and the summit of Government Hill can be observed from Mills Riffle Reservoir.

We'll be back! We loved the location, the setting (as nice or nicer than any nearby state park), the amenities, the hosts and the other campers! We rented a boat twice and really LOVED the crabbing package. Recommend the spots closer to the river :) ... We love this campground and have used it numerous times. Good fishing, good campgrounds and the greatest hosts and employees. Close to shopping, and many things to do. Full hookups and will accomodate larger rv's....

...ugust and it's only been a year since we were there. We went to the Yaquina Head Lighthouse... Amust see! We climbed all the way to the top and looked out over the ocean and what a view. We saw all kinds of wildlife while camping at Beverly Beach State Park: raccoons they came right up to us waiting for us to feed them and a beaver carrying a tree limb gave us a real spook!

It was dark and we were trying to find our one and only flashlight and while digging for it in our car, we heard some weird brushing sounds along the roadway and when we found the light and put it to where the noise was coming from, we saw a huge beaver carrying a tree limb off into the forrest. We were so shocked at how huge he was! He was the size of a small bear. At first I thought it WAS a bear but my husband said ''no, Baby, don't be scared... It's just a beaver and he wont hurt you. ''

The next morning we were making coffee and waiting for it to perk (a very slow way to make coffee) and the chipmunks were throwing pine cones at us from the tree tops and they actually hit me with one. Then they ...

Camping at the Oregon Coast at Chinook RV Park - what could be better! The Alsea River and Bay, famous for its Dungeness Crab and Chinook Salmon, are enjoyed year-round by fishermen, crabbers, hikers, hunters, boaters, kayakers and birdwatchers. We are close to spectacular ocean beaches. Our park is on the river, just 3. 3 miles from Highway 101 and the ocean, on Highway 34. You can pitch your tent on the river bank; launch your kayak and follow the Alsea River Water Trail. Enjoy the wonderful bird life of the bay which has been designated an important bird area by the Audubon Society. Chinook RV Park is a small, quiet park with large full hook-up RV sites and grassy partial hook-up sites. We have bathrooms with showers and a laundry. Come and enjoy the Oregon coast experience....
