What a place this is for outdoors people. Camping at Sumpter Pines is always a pleasant experience, and a short trip to Alder Spring is always worthwhile. This lake is so wonderful. Near Midway Pond you stumble on the Elkhorn Crest Trail which is a splendid hiking trail, and after a long day outdoors Knights Inn Baker City is a great location to spend a night or two. Camping is available at Unity Lake; on a great day you can take a hike along the Rock Creek

0's during winter nights. There is a great hiking trail next to Midway Pond called the Twin Lakes Trail, and do stop by Swale Pond, it's a beautiful lake. Around Midway Pond you don’t get a lot of rainfall; the wettest month of
the year is regularly December, that's the one that snows the most, and July meanwhile is the driest month. That right there is heaps of fun stuff already but it goes on, the Blue Mountains has it all. Some nearby water includes Alder Creek; while you're here, you could also pop by scenic Railroad Pond.
