Any time is a tremendous time at Merritt Reservoir if you adore the outdoors. No need to travel far to have a look at attention-grabbing stuff like Rockwall; if you're looking for some flowing water? Try Medicine Creek. During your tour to Merritt Reservoir you'll meet some folks from La Grande for sure, and after a long day outdoors Howard Johnson is a tremendous place to spend a night or       two. Merritt Reservoir is pretty waterless regularly; January is the month that gets the most snow; July on the other hand is the driest. Get soaked paddling on Grande Ronde River, and going for a hike along the Summit Mount Emily Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this area. If you're interested in hydro structures, you can go to Elgin Mill Wastewater Lagoon Dam, and hiking along the North Fork Trail is delightful fun. Just can't get enough of                  the Blue Mountains. Grandview Campground is a great campground here. And that's not all the things you can do here in the Blue Mountains. One of the overriding highlights of the surroundings of Merritt Reservoir is Jones Butte; do take a hike on the Hale Spring Trail. Summertime highs at Merritt Reservoir generally tend to be in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures sink down into the 50's. Highs all through the wintertime are mostly in the 30's, and night lows at Merritt Reservoir throughout the wintertime commonly sink into the 20's. This location rocks, just explore all the fun things to do close to Merritt Reservoir. A pretty lake like Maxwell Lake near Merritt Reservoir is a great site to explore, and there's no such thing as a bad day of skiing at nearby Spout Springs. This lake is so wonderful. Bluewood has wonderful slopes and a friendly staff, and you can stay the night at Timothy Spring Campground. This lake is so wonderful. A magnificent place like Parkers Flat here at Merritt Reservoir is too good to miss, and close by Darr Canyon is a great place to go. The Blue Mountains scenery is always beautiful. So much fun stuff in the Blue Mountains, just extraordinary.
