If you like lakes and you're in this part of Oregon you can check out Merrell Reservoir. Merrell Reservoir is typically a pretty dehydrated site; December is the month that gets the most rain, and the driest of the months is July. This lake is so wonderful. There is a great hiking trail close to Merrell Reservoir called the Ball Point Trail, and Comfort Inn The Dalles is a great place to get some rest.

For the duration of the warm months highs here at Merrell Reservoir reach the 80's. Once the sun is down it falls down to the 40's. Daytime highs during the wintertime are in the 40's with
winter lows in the 20's overnight here at Merrell Reservoir. If you're dropping by Merrell Reservoir from City of The Dalles, you won't be the only one; after a long day outdoors The Dalles Inn is a good location to spend a night or two.
