High temperatures during the winter are normally in the 40's, and winter nights come with lows in the 20's to Merrell Reservoir. A lovely lake like Tygh Valley Storage Pond close to Merrell Reservoir is a good place to stop by; there's some flowing       water nearby, Tygh Creek is a stream you can stop by during your stay. Lakes are such peaceful locations, why not go to Gray Reservoir right next door to Merrell Reservoir; you can go for a hike on the Little Badger Creek Trail. Merrell Reservoir is pretty waterless typically; December is when you get the most rain here while July is typically the driest month. Dry warm beds await you at Comfort Inn The Dalles; at Merrell Reservoir you always meet someone                  from City of The Dalles. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a spot to stay The Dalles Inn is a delightful choice. There's so much to do here at Merrell Reservoir that you need to camp here for a while, Wasco County Fairgrounds is a fine site for that. This lake is so wonderful. And that's not all you can do here at Merrell Reservoir. Get yourself into a kayak and hit White River, and going for a hike on the Ball Point Trail is always a good adventure.
