It's always fun to stop by McNary Lake. Any time is a great time at McNary Lake if you fancy the outdoors. You'll need more than a day to look at everything McNary Lake has to offer, you can camp at Sauvie Cove Store and RV Park; lots of folks from Portland-Vancouver-Beaverton come here. This lake is so wonderful. Golf can be played at St Helens Golf Course, and on a beautiful day you can take a look at Lyons Beach. Don't miss out on a wonderful swamp;
Crane Slough is right here at McNary Lake, and you'll come across a delightful lake called Domeyer Lake. An exciting thing to visit near McNary Lake is Sauvie Island Dam, and a journey to close by North Arm is very relaxing.

Lewis River - East Fork

*WARNING* Lewisville Pk to DayBreak on July 2, 2009. Water very low and very rocky using tubes and raft. Had to get out often and dislodge from rocks or walk over river rock. Had to walk from 1/4 sign to Daybreak all the way out and was VERY UNHAPPY. Walk was actually about a mile to parking area over river rock and then very narrow trail. Trails not marked if you have to get out and walk because water was TOO low (only a few inches deep). Would have appreciated uptodate info at booth at Lewisville entrance. Was told rafting was fine to Daybreak. Trip took 5.5 hours and was told it would take 2.5.... |
