Do stop by McKenzie Canyon Reservoir while you're in this part of Oregon. The Central Cascade Range scenery is always beautiful. All the water falling down from the sky makes McKenzie Canyon Reservoir a wet spot; December is the month that gets the most snow, and the driest of the months is July. You're sure to come across some wonderful people from Bend here, and whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then, we recommend Deschutes River.

Crooked River Ranch RV Park
 | 17 miles away We chose this location because of my interest in the Crooked River gorge, and because it was within 1-day driving distance of John Day Fossil Beds. The park itself is quite nice...although there were parties on both sides of us, we did not feel crowded. The adjacent golf course pool is open to RV campers. It's a long walk, but a convenient short drive. There's a viewing platform overlooking the gorge, which was a plus for me. Rates were quite reasonable for the type of facility.... |
