Mays Reservoir is pretty dried up regularly; the wettest month of the year is regularly November, that's the one that rains the most, and July is when it's the driest. If you get bored of Mays Reservoir, you could also have a look at close by Muddy Reservoir, and you'll meet a lot of people from Prineville here. During the summer highs here at Mays Reservoir get into the 80's while nighttime  
   lows are frequently in the 50's. For the duration of the winter the highs are commonly in the 30's, and winter nights come with lows in the 20's to Mays Reservoir.
This lake is so wonderful. In case you don’t have a problem getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on John Day River, and Mays Reservoir is not the only site close by, Currant Creek Reservoir is a close by lake. If you want a perfect time in the great outdoors, just come on down to
 
               Mays Reservoir. Mays Rock is a nice location to check out while in the vicinity. You get a great panorama of Arrastra Butte from Mays Reservoir, and nearby Ross Canyon is a great spot to go.
Mays Reservoir is good enough to spend more than a day at, Bingham Prairie Campground is a good local campground; why not stop by nearby Little Muddy Creek if you're here at Mays Reservoir.
