Man, is there heaps of fun things to do in the Wallowa Mountains. Camping at Maxwell Pond is delightful fun, Wallowa Valley Stay and wash is a delightful local campground, and you can run the rapids of Grande Ronde River. For the period of the warm days of summer here at Maxwell Pond, high temperatures typically reach the 80's with overnight lows in the 40's. During the wintertime       highs are generally in the 30's while the cold winter nights at Maxwell Pond are in the 20's. If only every site had this much outdoors exciting stuff, what a great planet it would be. A fine nearby hotel is Best Western Rama Inn & Suites, and needless to say Bear Creek is a picturesque stream that is worth a visit. Around Maxwell Pond you don’t get a lot of rain; most of the snow falls through December; the driest month of the year is July. So many exciting                  things to do here in the Wallowa Mountains, too nice to be true. Going for a hike on the Bear Creek Trail is always a magnificent adventure. Maxwell Pond is a beautiful lake in the Wallowa Mountains. If you came for an overnight stay Goebel's is a pleasant spot to camp, and nearby you stumble on the Cougar Ridge Trail which is a pleasant hiking trail. Diamond Prairie is a perfect spot, and the Crooked Trail is a magnificent hiking trail close by. This lake is so wonderful.
