The beauty of Maxwell Lake is reason enough to stop by. These mountains rock, just look at all the entertaining stuff to do in the Wallowa Mountains. Getting to French Creek from Maxwell Lake is painless, and after a long day outdoors Baker City Super 8 Motel is a good spot to spend a night or two. At Maxwell Lake all through the long summer days highs are in the 80's
while nighttime lows are mostly in the 40's. The winter brings highs down to the 30's while Maxwell Lake nighttime low temperatures all through the wintertime are in the 10's. This lake is so wonderful. This lake is so wonderful.
