There's so much to do here at Maxwell Lake that you need to camp here for a while, La Grande Rendezvous RV Resort is a great place for that, and while you're here you can take a hike along the Five Points Trail. Yeah, come here to Maxwell Lake for a great time. Best Western Rama Inn & Suites is a great site to get some rest. There are other sites here than Maxwell Lake, for example Roulet Pond; after a long day outdoors Lagrande Super 8 Motel is a good spot to spend a night or two. This lake is so wonderful. Have a fine hiking adventure along the Summit Mount Emily Trail,
and get yourself into a kayak and hit Grande Ronde River. Not far from Maxwell Lake, you'll locate Merritt Reservoir which is a charming lake, and lots of people from La Grande come here. If you love the outdoors you'll love it here
in the Blue Mountains. Pine Creek is close to Maxwell Lake and is always a pleasure to take a look at, and glorious skiing awaits you at Anthony Lakes.

Spout Springs opened in 1927 and was first known as the Blue Mountain Ski Club. Pete and Esther Eyraud were the first owners. Pete was the second President of Pacific Northwest Ski Instructors Association and was instrumental in bringing the first French ski instructors to the northwest ski areas. Its name is derived from the numerous natural springs that are found throughout the region. There are three springs on the resort's property.
Spout Springs has 2 double chair lifts, a 21 KM cross country trail system, night skiing (the entire area is lighted), and one of the states few free tubing hills. In the late 60's, Spout Springs was the Nordic training center for the United States Olympic team and the Norwegian jump team. Spout Springs flies the Olympic Flag for this distinction.
