What a nice lake Malarky Lake is. Dairy Creek is near Malarky Lake and is always a bliss to have a look at, and there are some glorious whitewater spots on Kalama River. Malarky Lake is not the only place close by, Seal Lake is a close by lake, and why not stop by a swamp like Crane Slough since you're here at Malarky Lake. A good deal of rainfall falls at Malarky Lake; of all the months in a year December is the one with the most rain; the driest of the months

This lake is so wonderful. Malarky Lake is a delightful place to visit for more than one day, Sauvie Cove Store and RV Park is a delightful place to camp nearby; if you've had enough of Malarky Lake, Grassy Lake is nearby. Summertime highs at Malarky Lake commonly tend to be in the 70's with nighttime lows in the 50's. You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the entertaining things at Malarky Lake. Stay the night at Reeder Beach RV Park; on a good day it's a perfect idea to spend the

Sturgeon Lake is a GREAT place to fish at on Sauvie Island. For exsample, There are WARM WATER SPECIES like: CATFISH, BASS, PANFISH, PERCH, WALLEYE & LOT MORE! There are COLD WATER SPECIES in the lake too, like: Trout. It is VERY BEAUTIFUL ESPECALLY IN FALL.... |

Lewis River - East Fork

*WARNING* Lewisville Pk to DayBreak on July 2, 2009. Water very low and very rocky using tubes and raft. Had to get out often and dislodge from rocks or walk over river rock. Had to walk from 1/4 sign to Daybreak all the way out and was VERY UNHAPPY. Walk was actually about a mile to parking area over river rock and then very narrow trail. Trails not marked if you have to get out and walk because water was TOO low (only a few inches deep). Would have appreciated uptodate info at booth at Lewisville entrance. Was told rafting was fine to Daybreak. Trip took 5.5 hours and was told it would take 2.5.... |

Don't Go all the way to wilsonville for a hotel. if you head in towards portland on the 26, there are plenty of hotels from government camp to welches. Personally if you're going to a lake in the mountains you should be CAMPING. And there are plenty of sites to do so, both reserved and not. There are great hiking trails and it's also full of fish and crawdads. Boating is a must if possible.... |
