If you are in Linn county it's always a good idea to stop by Lyons Log Pond. Lyons Log Pond commonly gets a lot of rain; of all the months in a year December is the one with the most rain, and July is when it's the driest. You just can't imagine the amount of outdoors amusing things the area close to Lyons Log Pond has to offer. This lake is so wonderful. If the weather is magnificent here at Lyons Log Pond, you can go for a hike along the Crabtree Lake Trail;

| | a perfect close by hotel is Rodeway Inn Sublimity. This lake is one of the great places here in the Central Cascade Range. Some close by water includes Little North Santiam River; you're almost certainly hooked on lakes, Freres Log Ponds is one of those close by. So much enjoyable stuff to do in the Central Cascade Range, not sufficient time. You might want to pay a visit to Fox Valley if you're here at Lyons Log Pond; Oregon Garden Resort is a delightful | |

place to get some rest. There's no way anybody can get bored here in the Central Cascade Range. While you're here at Lyons Log Pond you can take a hike along the Snow Peak Mill City Trail, and Santiam River - Little North has
a perfect whitewater paddling spot close by. Stout Creek Falls is always fun to check out; lots of people from Albany-Lebanon come here. Lyons Log Pond beyond doubt is in the middle of a pretty outdoors paradise. Camping at John Neal
Memorial County Park is always a great experience, and whitewater paddling is pleasant on Thomas Creek. This lake is so wonderful. This is a pleasant region for folks who like lakes. Wilkes Reservoir is a lake close by, and if
you came to camp Taylor Park is a great place to do that. Summertime highs at Lyons Log Pond typically tend to be in the 70's. During the dark hours of summer temperatures plunge down into the 50's. High temperatures during the wintertime
are normally in the 40's while the cold winter nights at Lyons Log Pond are in the 30's. The Pine Crest Trail is a great hiking trail in close proximity to Lyons Log Pond, and a wooded neighborhood close by is Taylor Grove.

Pine Crest Trail
 | 16 miles away ...arrows and now effectively ends. Actually, it continues, but the road is impeded by a gate sporting many 'no trespassing' signs and marking it 'private property'. When we got to this point, we were just about to turn around and go home when another car drove past us onto the road. Having driven for several hours to get there, we dared to venture further, and followed the car despite the many warnings on the gate. Now, if you are reading this please heed my advice... never do what we did. Do not try to find this trail. Listen to signs. They are usually there for a reason. We could not locate the next road to turn on because all the old street signs had been removed and all of the old turn-offs warned away the unauthorized with huge boulders blocking the road, locked gates and more no-trespassing signs. After taking some pictures of beautifully dilapidated country houses, we decided to call it a day and return home empty handed. However, when we got to the gate we came in through, we found that while we were away, someone had closed and locked it. We were trapped, and not the least bit... |
