The snow is glorious at Timberline Lodge, and a scenic lake like Rock Lakes is a great location to stop at. Any time is a good time at Lower Rock Lake if you go for the outdoors. A delightful spot like Cache Meadow here at Lower Rock Lake is too perfect to miss, and you'll hit upon a charming lake called Middle Rock Lake. Lower Rock Lake is a relatively wet place typically with much rainfall; during December       this area sees the most rain, and the driest of the months is July. So much cool stuff to do in the Central Cascade Range, not sufficient time. A brilliant close by hotel is Whispering Woods (Vri), and get yourself into a kayak and hit Clackamas River - Oak Grove Fork. This lake is so wonderful. There is a splendid hiking trail close to Lower Rock Lake called the Old Baldy Trail, and the best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of close by Mt. Hood                  Ski Bowl. This location, the Central Cascade Range, has so much outdoors amusing stuff. On a pleasant day at Lower Rock Lake you can take a hike along the Cottonwood Meadows Trail. There's so much to do here at Lower Rock Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Frazier Fork Campground is a great spot for that. This lake is so wonderful. If the weather is gorgeous, you get a pleasant vista of Frazier Mountain from Lower Rock Lake, and after a long day outdoors Resort at the Mountain is a great spot to spend a night or two. This lake is one of the great places here in the Central Cascade Range. Stay the night at Frazier Turnaround Campground. If you come at the right time of year, Clackamas River offers some splendid whitewater, and the Roaring River Trail is a good hiking trail nearby. For the duration of the warmest time of the year highs here at Lower Rock Lake get into the 70's, and during the night it cools down to the 50's.
