Lorin Lake is a beautiful lake in the Central Cascade Range. Going for a hike along the Mount Ray Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this region. This lake is so wonderful. If the weather is magnificent here at Lorin Lake, you can go for a hike along the Gold Lake Trail, and everybody loves Black Meadows. And if that's not sufficient there's plenty more fun things to do in the Central Cascade Range. A brilliant place to camp here at Lorin

| | Lake is Twin Springs Campground, and there are some splendid whitewater spots on Hills Creek. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Salt Creek, and Mount Ray is a peak you can make out from Lorin Lake. After a long day outdoors Best Western Oakridge Inn is a good spot to spend a night or two; you're perhaps addicted to lakes, Jo Ann Lake is one of those close by. Yep, outdoors fun stuff to do are truly plentiful | |

here at Lorin Lake. The best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of nearby Willamette Pass, and unsurprisingly, this is a brilliant vicinity for folks who like lakes, Lower Island Lake is a lake close at hand. This lake is
so wonderful. Camping at Shelter Cove Resort is always a great experience, and hiking along the Island Lake Trail is pleasant fun. Throughout the long summer days here at Lorin Lake, high temperatures mostly reach the 80's, and the
nighttime is a bit colder of course, frequently in the 40's. Through the winter the highs are mostly in the 40's with temperatures at Lorin Lake dipping down into the 20's throughout winter nights. Lorin Lake frequently gets a
great deal of rain; the month with most of the rain is December, and the driest month of the year is July. Just can't get enough of the Central Cascade Range. There's some flowing water nearby, Bechel Creek is a stream you can go to during your stay, and there are swamps here too, Rankins Horse Pasture is close at hand.

Davis Lake
 | 15 miles away This website needs updating. I was there on Aug. 2nd,3rd, and 4th 2007. There are a LOT of bass there. We saw NO trout at all, and no one we talked to had caught or seen one. I was there with 2 others for bass fishing. there is no camping at the west boat launch area. Day use only. There are 2 camp sites on the east side. The Lava Flow site is closed, and has been for some time. There is a primative site there. No water or elec. and very primative boat launching area. You have to pole or row through the tules to get out on the lake. The old campground is closed because of Eagles nest there. Eagles are no longer on the endangerd spieces list. Why not re-open that area. it has a great boat ramp. Bass fishing was great, but not many large fish when we were there. Lots of smaller bass. We were told it was real good in late June and first half of July. We will try again next year.... |
Little Cultus Lake
 | 15 miles away One of the best of the best small lakes i have fished, out of bend ore. Great family lake.... |
Winopee Lake
 | 16 miles away Went to Winopee lake this weekend...it was a little dissapointing because the lake is about 45% covered with reeds and lilly pads. The Eastern shore is the only one you can accesst the water without having to wade through reeds. There is quite a few algae blooms so swimming isn't an option. Overall, the view was nice but not spectacular. There are three decent campsites at the lake, popular with horse camps. The best of the three sites is the one on the Eastern bank, take the first trail you come accross before reaching the junction for sno-shoe lake. The second and third campsites are on the West bank and are a little harder to find...head for the clifs and you are there.... |
