All the outdoors amusing stuff in the Blue Mountains will keep you coming back again and again. Whitewater paddling is great on Grande Ronde River, and Nunamaker Pond is a nearby lake that you could explore. This lake is located in the wonderful Blue Mountains. This lake is so wonderful. It is very dry here at Long Pond regularly; all through November this area sees the most rain, and July on the other hand is the driest. Be careful coming to Long Pond, you might not ever want to return home again. through the warm months highs are in the 80's while nighttime lows are commonly in the 50's. During the wintertime this place gets highs in the 40's, and nighttime lows in the 20's for Long Pond. While you're here at Long Pond you
can take a hike along the Evans Trail; a short tour to Butcher Knife Spring is always worthwhile. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Blue Mountains. Dry warm beds await you at Rodeway Inn La Grande, and you can have a magnificent
hiking adventure along the Five Points Trail. If you're stopping by Long Pond from La Grande, you won't be the only one, and Grande Ronde River has a nice whitewater paddling spot close by.

 | 21 miles away 9 PHOTOS ...in 1927 and was first known as the Blue Mountain Ski Club. Pete and Esther Eyraud were the first owners. Pete was the second President of Pacific Northwest Ski Instructors Association and was instrumental in bringing the first French ski instructors to the northwest ski areas. Its name is derived from the numerous natural springs that are found throughout the region. There are three springs on the resort's property. Spout Springs has 2 double chair lifts, a 21 KM cross country trail system, night skiing (the entire area is lighted), and one of the states few free tubing hills. In the late 60's, Spout Springs was the Nordic training center for the United States Olympic team and the Norwegian jump team. Spout Springs flies the Olympic Flag for this distinction.
