It's a great idea to have a look at Lake Creek, it's in the vicinity of Long Branch Reservoir; if you're interested in hydro structures, you can have a look at Stanley Dam. Have a great hiking adventure along the Buck Point Trail, and Rogue River - North Fork has a good whitewater paddling spot close by.
