If you come at the right time of year, Deschutes River offers some brilliant whitewater. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Lodgepole Lake; Snowshoe Lake Trail is a delightful local trail, and Willamette Pass is a very popular ski area close by. These mountains rock, just check out all the entertaining things to do in the Central Cascade Range. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Twin Peaks Trail,       and Merle Lake is a nearby lake that you could pop by. This lake is so wonderful. At Lodgepole Lake you can spot Pillar Peak, and Lodgepole Lake is pleasant enough to spend more than a day at, Upper Campground is a pleasant local campground. This lake is one of the great places here in the Central Cascade Range. For the period of the summertime months at Lodgepole Lake highs are typically in the 80's while overnight lows are mostly in the 40's. Daytime highs                  all through the wintertime are in the 40's while the cold winter nights at Lodgepole Lake are in the 20's. Lodgepole Lake is a wet place that gets a good deal of rain; December is when you get the most rain here; July is the month with the least moisture. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this location. The best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of close by Mt. Bachelor. There's so much to do here at Lodgepole Lake that you need to camp here for a while, East Lake Resort and RV Parks is a great place for that.
