    Why not stop by Lake Penland if you're passing through these parts. At Lake Penland through the summertime highs are in the 80's. During the moonlight hours it's regularly in the 50's. Highs through the winter are regularly in the 40's; winter nights come with lows in the 20's to Lake Penland. There's always Lake Penland Dam to stop at close to Lake Penland, and Mallory Spring is a charming spot to explore while you're at Lake Penland. Be careful coming to  
   the Blue Mountains, you might not ever want to go home again. Camping is available at Elkhorn Tavern and RV Park, and if you're here you can take a hike along the Minetop Trail.
This lake is so wonderful. You should absolutely dedicate some time to Brown Prairie if you're here at Lake Penland; you can have a pleasant hiking adventure along the Copple Butte Trail. Yep, outdoors entertaining things to do are really plentiful here at Lake Penland. Hiking along
 
               the Section Line Trail is magnificent fun; why not camp at C and D Motel and Trailer Court if you're here at Lake Penland. Visiting John Day Fossil Beds National Monument is just something you need to do if you haven't yet; there's whitewater on John Day River - North Fork for all you adrenaline rush seekers.
That right there is heaps of amusing stuff already but it goes on, the Blue Mountains has it all. There's some flowing water close by, Butcher Bill Creek is a stream you can check out while you're here. Lake Penland gets very little rainfall; the month of November is the wettest with most of the rain, and July is when it's the driest. The Blue Mountains scenery is always beautiful.
