Clackamas River - Oak Grove Fork is a tremendous whitewater spot in the vicinity of Lake Harriet, and Mt. Hood Ski Bowl is a very popular ski area nearby. If only every location had this much outdoors exciting things, what a great planet it would be. Mount Mitchell is clearly visible from Lake Harriet; since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always have a look at nearby Hideaway Lake. You just       can't imagine the amount of outdoors entertaining stuff the Central Cascade Range has to offer. You can run the rapids of Clackamas River close to Lake Harriet, and camping at Frazier Turnaround Campground is always a perfect experience. This lake is so wonderful. An attention-grabbing thing to check out right next door to Lake Harriet is Lake Harriet Dam. Lakes? Sure, Serene Lake is in close proximity. And if that's not sufficient, there's a lot more to do in the                  vicinity of Lake Harriet. Going for a hike on the Cottonwood Meadows Trail is always a perfect adventure, and Steep Spring is always fun to check out. Whohoo, so many enjoyable things in one place! The Central Cascade Range is unbeatable! If you need a location to stay Whispering Woods (Vri) is a nice choice, and why not stop at nearby Canyon Creek if you're here at Lake Harriet. Good hiking is available along the Rhododendron Ridge Trail, and don’t forget to visit Cottonwood Meadows if you're here at Lake Harriet. Head up to Timberline Lodge and strap some skis to your feet, and camping is available at Frazier Fork Campground. Having a nice time in the Central Cascade Range is uncomplicated. Through the long summer days, highs regularly are in the 70's at Lake Harriet; the overnight is quite cooler of course, generally in the 50's. The winter comes with highs in the 40's while Lake Harriet night low temperatures all through the wintertime are in the 30's. All the water falling down from the sky makes Lake Harriet a wet place; all through December this area sees the most rain, and the driest of the months is July. This lake is one of the great places here in the Central Cascade Range. This lake is so wonderful.
