There's some out       of the ordinary stuff to observe at Lake Harriet Dam near Lake Harriet, and if you don't mind getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on Clackamas River. And if that's not enough, there's a heap more to do close to Lake Harriet. A lake close by is Hideaway Lake; if the weather is perfect, you can go for a hike along the Rhododendron Ridge Trail. This lake is located in the wonderful Central Cascade Range.
