Going for a hike on the Beatty Creek Trail is always a great adventure, and a lake nearby is Huddleston Reservoir. This lake is so wonderful. enough to spend more than a day at, Eagles Hot Lake RV Park is a glorious local campground. During the long summer days at Ladd Canyon Pond highs are mostly in the 80's. Once the sun is down it falls down to the 50's. The wintertime
brings highs down to the 30's while Ladd Canyon Pond nighttime low temperatures through the winter are in the 20's. Ladd Canyon Pond is a location that is rather dried out usually; January is when you get the most snow here, and July is when it's the driest.

Spout Springs

Spout Springs opened in 1927 and was first known as the Blue Mountain Ski Club. Pete and Esther Eyraud were the first owners. Pete was the second President of Pacific Northwest Ski Instructors Association and was instrumental in bringing the first French ski instructors to the northwest ski areas. Its name is derived from the numerous natural springs that are found throughout the region. There are three springs on the resort's property. Spout Springs has 2 double chair lifts, a 21 KM cross country trail system, night skiing (the entire area is lighted), and one of the states few free tubing hills. In the late 60's, Spout Springs was the Nordic training center for the United States Olympic team and the Norwegian jump team. Spout Springs flies the Olympic Flag for this distinction.
