Kester Pond is a splendid location to visit for more than one day, Horsfall - Siuslaw National Forest is a splendid location to camp nearby, and at Earl Kennel Dam close to Kester Pond there are some out of the ordinary things to see. Oak Hill can be observed from Kester Pond; Driftwood - Siuslaw National Forest is a glorious campground nearby. All the outdoors exciting       stuff in the Coast Ranges will keep you coming back time and again. There are plenty of people from Corvallis here at Kester Pond, and get drenched paddling on Marys River. This lake is one of the great places here in the Coast Ranges. Kester Pond sees pretty high levels of precipitation; December is the month that gets the most rain, and July on the other hand is the driest. Peterson Creek is next to Kester Pond and is always a joy to take a look at; float                  down the rapids of Mill Creek in a kayak. This lake is so wonderful.
